Co-operating with the environment

Old Grace Housing Co-operative is committed to environmental sustainability. For example, we have set ourselves high goals for building construction, energy efficiency, and water use. We have planted over 20 trees, over 80 shrubs, and over 20 varieties of perennial grasses and vines. We have created a habitat for Chimney swifts, a bird that used to nest and roost in the chimney of the Old Grace Hospital. And, in partnership with Peg City Car Co-op, we have brought three co-op vehicles to the neighbourhood.
