DSI Tandem Co-op Resources was one of two Co-operative Achievement Award winners at the Manitoba Cooperative Association Annual Achievement Awards Dinner October 18.
OGHC has worked with DSI for nearly five years as we brought our housing co-op from the idea stage to where we are today. Harry Haid and Karl Falk of DSI provided solid guidance through all the technical and regulatory aspects of creating Old Grace.
“Their experience with design, financing, construction, membership development, and government relations makes them a most valued advisor. Always willing to answer questions and lend their expertise, DSI truly made it possible for OGHC to reach our current stage of development,” says board chair, Sandra Hardy. “We couldn’t have done it without them.”
DSI, which is a worker co-op, was nominated by the Co-op Housing Development Group.
The second Co-op Achievement Award was a Youth Leadership Award presented to representatives of Stingers Credit Union, a branch of Assiniboine Credit Union located at, and managed by the students of Tech Voc High School.
In presenting the awards, Corinna Rosales, MCA board member, praised the impact both winners are having. “Manitoba Cooperative Association is proud to acknowledge and recognize successful co-operatives and co-op leaders. Tonight, we acknowledge your significant contribution to the Manitoba co-op movement.”
