Our Moving Stories: Call for Submissions
As you get ready to move into our new co-op, are you having fun? Tears? Or both?
How are you feeling as you downsize to fit into your new home? Is it rough? Easy?
How do you envision your life in this new community? What are your hopes? And fears?
The Co-op Library Committee wants to hear about your moving-into-the-co-op experiences. We’d love to read, see, hear what this has been like for you. You may feel like expressing it in a story, anecdote, poem, picture, play, song, limerick, joke… or some art form we have never heard of– any or all of the above. More than one submission is acceptable.
When we have your submissions, we will host a creating-party in the fall of 2018, where we put them all together in a booklet or a zine for everyone in the co-op to enjoy — a chronicle of our early days at OGHC. And in years to come, new co-op residents can see how we did it, how Old Grace Housing Co-op came together in this brave new venture.
Deadline: September 1, 2018
Maximum length: Things made of words: up to 600 words; pictures: up to two pages.
Contact Alex Merrill with questions or submissions.
Downsizing? Do you have books for our library? We look forward to filling up our new co-op library shelves! The OGHC Library welcomes residents’ donations of:
- Books (including children’s books) in very good condition. All genres except for textbooks.
- Audiobooks, board games, CDs and DVDs in very good condition. No videos, please.
We can handle your donations in the co-op after February 20.
Email Alex Merrill to find out where to take your boxes, or to arrange pick-up from your suite.
Note: After we sort through donations, members will be offered the chance to look through the books that we won’t be keeping before we send them to a charity.
