Building the Old Grace Housing Co-op Accessibility Fund

The Old Grace Housing Co-operative Accessibility Fund exists to enable households with physical and social barriers to live at the co-op and participate in our mixed-income, multi-generational community.

Created through partnerships with Mennonite Central Committee (Manitoba), All Saints Anglican Church, St Margaret’s Anglican Church and the Winnipeg Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), the Fund offsets up to 75% of the household’s Member Shares. In this way, secure, accessible housing can be provided for members whose additional financial barriers would otherwise prevent them from living here.

The co-op’s goal is to permanently offset Member Shares for up to 13 of the co-op’s 64 households. We are grateful to the co-op members and supporters who have contributed to this fund. You can make your own contribution by e-transfer to oldgracehousingcoop@gmail.com, identifying Accessibility Fund in the transfer details. Please consider using a security question that can be answered with the word “accessible”.

Alternatively, you can send a cheque to :

Old Grace Housing Co-operative

100-200 Arlington Street

(the memo line should read Accessibility Fund)

If you would like a tax receipt for your donation, please contact Glenn Morison at 204-298-7859 or send him an email at glenn@morison.ca. Please do this before making a donation.

You will be in good company. Close to 50 individuals and organizations have already contributed over $190,000. To date, the co-op has been able to offset the share costs of 10 low-income households.
