Construction of Old Grace Housing Co-operative commences this week. The general contractor, Concord Projects, has started preparatory work on the site. It is expected that construction will be completed in fall 2017. The date of the official sod-turning ceremony has yet to be determined.
As of July 25, parking on the lot on the northwest corner of Preston Avenue and Evanson Street will be restricted to authorized vehicles. Old Grace Housing Co-operative has the lease for this land and will be using it as a staging area for development of the lot on the southeast corner of Preston and Evanson.Continue reading
On July 22, OGHC distributed 250 leaflets to households north of Westminster between Lenore and Home informing them that construction would soon be commencing.
Photograph(s) from the November 22 Collective Design Process Workshop. Over 70 Old Grace Housing Co-op members, interested neighbours of the Old Grace Hospital site, and representatives of community organizations gathered to discuss future plans and possibilities for redevelopment of the site. Input from the workshop will guide Prairie Architects and the co-op project team in the next stages of project design and development.
MHRC ( Manitoba Housing and Renewal Corporation ) has issued a request for expressions of interest for the development of a housing project on the site of the Old Grace Hospital. Find the requirements for this REOI here.
